OVERVIEW
Begin your CCT 2026 experience by joining us for a guided ecstatic movement journey designed to ground the body, energize the mind, and attune our community before the conference officially opens. This immersive session weaves together curated music, somatic warm-ups, and free-form movement to help participants arrive more fully - physically, emotionally, and intellectually - into our shared space of inquiry in Kyoto.

Format

We open with a gentle arrival meditation, inviting presence and connection, followed by a progressively unfolding musical set that supports improvisation, curiosity, and embodied awareness. Participants are encouraged to move in whatever way feels right for them. No choreography, skill, or prior experience is needed, only a willingness to explore movement at your own pace!

Rules & Expectations

To create a safe and focused container:
-
The space is non-verbal, substance-free, and phone-free.
-
You are invited to move in the way that feels good for your body - all bodies and abilities are welcome.
-
Please honour your own boundaries and those of others; consensual, mindful interaction is essential.
-
This is not a performance space, and there is no right or wrong way to move.
-
-
Please bring water and dress comfortably for movement. We’ll be dancing barefoot to support grounding and ease, though socks are welcome if that feels better for you.

Why Join?

Designed as a vibrant and restorative opening to the conference, this ecstatic dance journey offers a rare opportunity to align intention, creativity, and presence. It is a moment to ground, connect, and arrive - with yourself and with the CCT community before we enter the intensity and inspiration of the days ahead.

Join us to move, breathe, and co-create a shared embodied beginning to CCT 2026.
Registration
To manage capacity and ensure the smooth running of the retreat, participation is capped at 40 participants. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
