

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
A limited number of program/grants are available to support participants, particularly PhD students and those without institutional funding. Priority is given to authors with accepted papers. Support may partially offset registration and related costs, but does not cover all expenses.
CCT 2026 PhD Candidate Volunteer Program
The CCT 2026 PhD Candidate Volunteer Program is designed to provide PhD candidates with behind-the-scenes insight into conference organization, as well as opportunities for professional engagement and networking within the field.
Selected volunteers will support conference operations, including session coordination, technical support, registration, and general conference logistics.

In recognition of their contribution, selected volunteers will receive a 50% discount on conference registration fees.

CCTC Global South Conference Grant
The Consumer Culture Theory Consortium board is pleased to announce the availability of funds to support CCT scholars from the Global South presenting their work at the 2026 CCT conference in Kyoto, Japan.
A total of $15,000 USD has been approved to cover the following costs for successful applicants: conference registration (student or non-student; virtual or in-person), networking dinner, and CCTC annual membership.
Deadline: Applicants should complete this application form as soon as possible and no later than April 26, 2026.
Applicants should not register for the conference until receiving a determination on whether they will receive a Global South Grant. If they are successful, they will receive a special registration code.
Eligibility: Grant recipients must apply by the deadline and meet all the following criteria:

lack full institutional financial resources to participate in the conference AND
-
have submitted work to the 2026 CCT Conference (in any track; acceptance of the work is not required) AND
-
plan to attend the 2026 CCT Conference AND
-
be employed by, studying at, or otherwise affiliated with a home institution in the Global South: Americas (excluding Canada and the USA); Africa; Asia (including Turkey;
-
excluding Asian Russia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Japan, and
-
Korea) or Pacific Islands OR, if not affiliated with an institution, currently live in the Global South as defined above.

People who meet the eligibility criteria and received CCTC Global South grant(s) in previous years are eligible to apply this year.
Selection: Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and have work accepted at the 2026 conference will be approved on a first-come-first-served basis. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and do not have work accepted at the conference will be selected after applications from folks with accepted work and will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis until funds are exhausted. The CCTC Board will assess applications and notify applicants by email. Successful applicants who have already registered for the conference and/or paid CCTC membership fees will have their payments reimbursed.
